Project Overview
The Woolgoolga to Halfway Creek section was a technically challenging section to build. The major challenges for construction were the cutting through the Dirty Creek Range and crossing the Corindi floodplain.
Some of the key features of this section of highway upgrade are the new interchange at Range Road, twin bridges over the Corindi Floodplain and new rest area at Arrawarra. The new interchanges allows safer access on and off the highway and improved access to local communities.
The 14 kilometre upgrade opened in two sections, with the 10 kilometres bypass of Corindi Beach opening to traffic in October 2017 and the final four kilometres section between Range Road and Grays Road opening to traffic in December 2017.
